Rebecca ...You missed a good talk on this very idea. Rebecca Morean was speaking about why we are stifled as writers, why we constantly self-edit. She compared the phenomenon to a baby learning to walk. When the baby learns to walk, every step is encouraged, when we begin to write, everything is criticized.
